Although the website was not profitable for Newscorp, Specific Media will totally benefit from the MySpace wasteland as their goal as an ad network is to have more content for advertisement. They also have the ability to monetize MySpace’s unique music and online video content. Moreover, the wealth of social media data that still belongs to MySpace could help the company improve their ad targeting.
I’m pretty sure the Specific guys have done the math before acquiring a company with such a tarnished name. Good for them, bad for Newscorp.
